OMG!!!!!!!! Look!

Wow. I don't blame the kids for not wanting to go to school. And HOPEFULLY they will bring some counselors in for the students. Thats a HUGE thing to find out, that they could have been dead come June if the people with this information didn't come forward or give it to the correct people. I'm glad something was done about it, and this should be an example for the rest of the country on how to handle things like this.
 
Wow...at least they were caught. You always think you live in a safe place...The middle school in my town, 3 buys were just arrested this week because they were caught with steak knives on the bus, apparently they were planning on killing their bus driver. This is the school my daughter will most likely be attending in 5 years...and we live way out in the country too. Man, what times. *shudder*
 
...this is what wakes up us teachers in the middle of the night, screaming..... i am sincerely grateful that someone paid enough attention to save the kids.....

i think we can come up with a better solution than that .. LOL

making people afraid of authority figures just causes rebelion... and not everybody is a crazy "nazi joe" theres just some ****ed up kids out there who get some bad ideas......

I don't think so.. I had several teachers when I was in school that I saw backhand students for giving them a "wrong look".. The kids were completely knocked out of their desk or with their desk overturned. Stuff like this or Columbine never happened back then. EVER.

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in abuse. But I think a little fear would be a good thing.
 
i completly disagree.. kids dont shoot up a school because they arent disciplined... if you are going to take a gun through your school,dont you think a techer punishing you would be the least fo your worries?? people who do things like that have problems far greater than lack of fear/discipline..... and what kind of teacher or person for that matter wants a kid to live in fear of the adults,or anybody around them for that matter... i would think this would drive some kids TO shoot up a school to get back at teachers...

i would never/have never given a teacher a reason to backhand me,but i know if a teacher did ever give me a backhand for giving them the wrong look,theyd wind up on there face pretty quick... why do they deserve anymore respect than you or I ?? any person no matter who they are have to earn respect,and if they respect me ,im gonna respect them back.. making me live in fear like some sort of dictator will not earn my respect an i would refuse to live like that...
 
Eh although I disagree with Clown's statement I can't completely agree with your's either CC. Teachers do deserve a level of respect just for their position. That doesn't mean they can do anything they want mind you. But it is similiar to needing to respect your parents when you are a minor. If you continue to respect your parents as an adult they've done a good job with you.

My son will be 19 in a few weeks. If he ever hit a teacher back he'd have dealt with me and he knew that and didn't want it. However, if a teacher hit him that teacher would ceertainly be dealing with me and they'd really not like it.

Bottom line, some positions deserve respect. However if the person in that position abuses power than whether they deserve to be in it becomes a separate issue.

Back to the topic though...Pink, I'm really sorry you and your area are going through this. It is a very frightening thing and as a mom I can really relate right now. My heart is in my stomach feeling a fraction of what I would feel in your place.
 
since when do kids who do this plan escape routes?
