i dont think you get to pick much of anything in the military.. i was in army cadets for a couple years and from my experience, you do whatever the hell they tell you!! lol

i was wondering if the person was feeding him a line of crap thats what i wanted to ask lol

My wife's best friend's husband is in the Army Special Forces. She sees him 3 months out of the year and only knows what country he's in, no other info. No personal experience though, sorry.

You do get a choice...but they pick places to chose from. It always depends on what his job will be. Its a hard lifestyle. Navy is pretty good about not sending the ships out a lot. Most of the time its one 6 month deployment every 18 months (but thats subs). I used to be a navy wife with a kid. If you ever need to talk...just let me know;)

To answer your other question: If he is stationed overseas you will more than likely go with him. If hes just going to school overseas, you will probably just stay wherever you are...

yep.

depending on his ASVAB score, he will have a multitude of jobs to choose from. the job that he chooses pretty much dictates where he goes, there are few choices, but some.
