Hi Friends...

Just wanted to know if new plants arising out of runners will only come out at open spaces ? I mean my Vals are starting to multiply, I guess, but I'm afraid if new plants will emerge under driftwood or rocks or will they come out safely in open spaces ?

I hope my question is clear :) Kindly advice...
Thanks !
Kush

you can move the runner in a different direction if you think it will go under driftwood or a rock

but I cant see the runner ! I just see a small Val emerging out at a distance... does this mean that the runner is burried under the gravel ?

Just wanted to know, how do these runners look like ? I see the new baby val but nothing connecting it to the parent plant... is it like a leaf or a wtring etc ?

its like a 1-2 inch brownish string coming out of the vals connecting to the younger smaller val. hope that helps

heres a horrible picture explaining what it is..

The mother plant sends out shoots which are stemlike, after the stem has reached a certain distance it will start growing leaves (baby vals), and then it will continue sending the shoot from that new plant.
