ok to clear everything up with everyone lol i am going back to pick up the anemone and fish when i let my tank cycle and do the water test first. i was the one who asked the guy about putting two clarkii's in the tank and he said 3 would be better... im prob just gonna go with 2 clarkii's and a yellow watchman goby or blue green chromis. seems to me like at last with 3 clowns two would gang up on the third. the guy doesnt do saltwater set ups . he said he would do one for me because my brother brought him business. i go in the place at least 3 times a week and i have seen the fish eat and never seen anything out of the ordinary.

i agree with grins and damon on this one. 3 clowns in a 30g sounds like a very bad idea to me. also if the lfs is wanting to get the OP the everything right away (nem included) i am very uncomfortable with it personally.

Yet yourselves would put 3 "other" fish in a 30 gal tank?? I dont see the logic here....but, each to their own...

so niko you are saying you think my yellow watchman, perc and purple pseudochromis in my 29g are as likely to fight as 3 clarkii's in a 30g? i strongly disagree here my friend... to the OP, i think your idea of adding the yellow watchman with the clarkii pair is a much better idea. and i would def wait quite a while on getting that nem, about 6 months is recommended.

Well, I see 2 sides of the coin.. IF the tank was ONLY a 3 clown/1 anemone tank and nothing else, it may be ok. Ya, 3 clowns is kind of odd and there will be fighting as the female/male sexing happens.. but I still think it is doable, just not ideal.

The other side is, if you want a much more diverse tank with that size, the 3 clowns is going to exclude almost anymore fish. 1 or maybe 2 clowns and a few others types of fish usually will make people much happier in the long run because they won't get sick of looking at the same fish every day without variety.

No, i have not said anything about fighting...hey, you disagree with me, thats cool, i dont post here for everyone to agree with what i say...i post here to pass on "my" experience of a given situation....And my experience of the situation is that it will be fine once the pecking order is set...

i saw no note of a sump, lr, power heads, skimmers etc.

Completely disagree. I had my anemone on my 29G under 2x65 PCs for over 3 years, no sump, 1 powerhead, 1 HOB filter and HOB skimmer without issue. You do NOT need to spend $350 on a light for an anemone, although doing so would not hurt at all. It just isn't "required".
