i have heard alot of things about them, the local fish expert said that one would work fin in my 35 hex. but other people say no, please give me your opinion

the gold nugget is the pre-madonna of the pleco's.

very hard to keep, require pretty good water conditions, and a variety of food with lots of cover in the tank.

A 35 gallon hex would not be alot of floor space, they are slow growers, and if you get a smaller nugget with a nice long piece of driftwood I think it could work.

but, they are VERY TERRITORIAL. In that size tank i would not put any other plecos in the tank.

i have a 125 gallon long and my 5-6" nugget (L-018) chases off my 4 other plecs including a 6 1/2" royal. The Nugget thinks he owns the tank.

ok thanks i guess i will go with an albino BN, would that work

cool

sweet, and there cheeper

Mine was about $30 and about 3.5" when I got it about a year ago. It is now 6". I feed it nothing but New Life Spectrum (pellets, not the wafers), same with all my fish, and it is doing very well. They like a lot of current, driftwood, and high water quality. I think you could do it if the water quality is high enough and you have some driftwood in there. There are a few pics of it in my Photobucjet page.

i have alot of drift wood, and my paremiters are perfict
