Help, I just noticed today, there is a small whitish spot on my gold nugget. I don't think he had this before and I've been staring at it to see if it was just the glass of my aquarium giving off that cloudy look on the spot, but I don't think it is. I think it is on the fish itself. He has been acting normal and swims around and eats. Does anyone recognize something like this and advise of how I can take care of it. I have some angelfish and a king tiger pleco in the tank and everyone else seems fine. Please help!

Below is a picture of him and I have circled in red where the little spot is.

Isn't ick supposed to be a group of little white spots? There seems to be just the one whitish spot. How do I treat this? Any meds?

I'm trying to read up about this, and it may a bacterial infection. I think I am going to try treating with Pimafix / Melafix. Never had to do this before, so does anyone have any advice? I have angels in same tank. I do not have a hospital tank, so I'm going to treat the entire tank, unless you think I should take Nugget out and put in little container. I have an extra heater but I don't have extra filter. Please help.

I do not claim any sort of expertise - but I recently had a molly with a small cloudy white patch. It looked like a damaged scale and the male had been really giving her a hard time so I think that was the case, anyway, I just kept the water super clean and watched for a few days and it is completely gone. If it looks raised or fuzzy at all that would give me more alarm. It doesn't look like ich - that is more like little white salt grains attached to the fish.

If it isn't getting bigger, raised, fuzzy, etc. and the fish behaves normally then you might want to give it a little time and really clean water and see if it gets any better rather than going straight to treating the whole tank.

it is just my opion because my common pleco had a single white dot on his back and i treated like ich and it went away

here to no expert just what worked for me

Did you use salt or something else to treat the ich? There are several threads on this site about salt treatments for ich. I've done it and everyone lived - pleco included.

It really doesn't look like ich, does not look like a grain of salt. More like a fuzzy bump. If I use some meds, would it be ok to put him in a 5 gal tank, with heater, a small cave and an airstone but no filter, and daily water changes? Or is it better to just put in my main tank? Is there any kind of "med bath" I can do instead??
