Well i have a empty 30 gallon and i wanna put either loaches or corys and i want them not to be majorly aggressive so they have to be peaceful loach or i could get some corys. Would loaches be fine with play sand or pool filter?

Yes.

okay so are there any loaches that would enjoy being in a 30 gallon tank or should i just go with corys?

You could go with a group of Kuhli loaches. I believe any of the Pangio family would love a 30 gal.

are corys/loaches picky about ph? because i want to add a big school of neons in the tank and i need to have more acidic water for those neons right?

These are two great resources on loaches and catfish. You should be able to find all the info you need. From recollection, loaches (at least kuhli's) like a PH between 6-7. Double check though, I'm not certain.

don't worry too much about the exact pH...most fish are not that picky about it because A) they are more likely than not store bred and kept in conditions similar to yours and B) TDS is far more important anyways.

both corys or loaches will be fine. if you are willing to spend more and look harder I would recommend sids (Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki)...cute, active little guys. Also known as dwarf chain loaches

question what is dh lol im sorry i dont know this yet...are kuhlis peaceful? how do you use enough pete moss to lower ph in a 30gal? what is tds?

dh can be a measurement of water hardness
kuhlis are pretty peaceful, and pretty oblivious
the amount of peat moss would depend on your current pH and your desired pH
TDS= total dissolved solids, which takes into account basically everything in the water

how do i test tds...and my ph is like 7.8 and i want 6.8 or so
