She Clouded Up On Me!

Did a routine water change today, came back a couple hours later and she had clouded up on me.

I checked and got - 0, 0, and 6.7 (usual)

I popped both canisters and removed the media. I still had an old charcoal / white something mix (fluval makes) in a tray. I swapped that out with charcoal. Right now I have 6 trays - 4 with popcorn and 2 with charcoal.

What do you think could have caused it?

I got the canisters back on and running - hopefully it will clear up soon.

Bacteria bloom?

I have done this 25% water change dozens and dozens of times with no ill effects. I did, however, prune a great many plants yesterday and change the water today - could that be the cause?

Yeah, yeah I know - thanks for rubbing it in (LOL). Wanted to get some other input, but I guess this is the end of that. How long do these "bacterial blooms" usually last? says the ultra-impatient one!

the bacterial bloom lasts a life time.. so you might as well pack all your stuff up and ship it here....

If its a mini cycle it should clear up within a few days. I think small 10% water changes every other day would help.

and then you put them on and see that the tank is looking worse with the glasses on than without :silly:

It was the big trim followed the next day by the water change that caused the suspected "mini" cycle. Woke up this morning to a crystal clear tank - cycle must be over!
