ok I set up my 20 gallon long aquarium today and put on this backing picture. Well parts of it sealed to the glass and are very pretty and visable, other parts are not sticking very well and can't be seen at all through the tank.
Is there a trick to getting the back pictures (can't remember name of it) to stick so it's all visable through the aqaurium?
It's one of those rolls of backing with a picture on one side and black on the other side. :wall: :help:

A thin coat of Vaseline and a squeegee works well. Just apply the Vaseline to the side you want showing, stick it on the tank and squeegee out the air bubbles.

Hold the background up to the back to decide which side you prefer. Personally I like the solid backgrounds as they show your tanks contents better, then lube it up.

Just sprinkle some tank water on the background, spread the water so that the whole background is wet. Stick it to the back of the tank squeeze out the air bubbles. after it dries it would be stuck to the tank. After it dries secure the edge with tape.

oh ok thanks everyone I really had no idea I thought that just by putting it behind the tank I would be able to see it. New to setting up aquariums. So I hope i didn't sound dumb asking about this. My other aquarium i got from Craigslist had the back already attatched, so I had no idea.

ok Thanks again everyone who offered me ideas.

This is a trick I used playing hockey and also when doing car window tint which also works on fish tanks backgrounds. Just mix some baby shampoo like johnsons a cap full too two cups water in a spray bottle. Spray this on back of tank apply background and squegee. This also works to prevent fogging on mirrors or hockey visors lol very well, just spray on then wipe leaving slight film to dry.
