Alright after asking around plants did not seem to be the only thing my tank was missing the main issue seemed to be height. Well i took some scrap pieces of driftwood i had and made a piece with some height to it. At least to me it made an amazing difference. The only plant in there is lace java fern.

Any aquascaping critiques are VERY welcome.. be as harsh as possible

I do plan to add a couple more plants but that's just what i had access to now and lately i have not had a chance to accept a delivery and no lfs have any good selection.

After, i think it gives the tank a lot more personality. I am hoping the java fern will take over all the driftwood.

Love the addition!

Can't be harsh with that.... great work!

What little driftwood you added didn't give it any height...then you covered it with plants. Pretty blah to me.

Only had some scraps was as tall as i could make it Without plants it kinda falls short of where i want it. Kinda hoping the plants cover it more and grow upwards a bit. Any ideas? not sure exactly how else to do it but open to experimenting.

Would forming some type of open arch with another piece of wood help?
