Yet another LFS horror story!

Well, it is sad this happens..but it is life I spose. The LFS are there to make money and most don't really care what happens to the fish. You should of seen my first set up which was sooooo grossly overstocked but they told me it would be fine to put those columbian, rainbow, bala and irredecent sharks in that 29g..no problems at all!!! Those were not the only fish they sold me either!!!

How long before you figured out you needed a larger tank?

I have heard it time and time again. I have a great LFS that I use and she is almost insane how protective she is of the fish she sells. They are hard to find though, fish stores that care. I never use the large chainstores for anything, they all have ich anyway.

lol i have a worse one, I was at my lfs last week and the owner said he would give me 2 puffers for a bunch of kribensis i had..he says show up 1:30 and he'll be there (store wasn't open on sunday) I bag up the fish and go in, and no one is there so I have to bring them home and put them back in the tank. I go there today, there was no one working in the store, literally empty...yet the store was open...and they didn't even have any puffers. LOL?
remember.... feel free to share your bad experiences with each other.. but please leave the store names out of it.
I made a call back to that store and spoke to the actual owner, it's not a chain store. He told me that the young kids working that day were his son and his neice, and they know what they're talking about. So when I asked him how big do the Giant Goramy's get in his opinion, he told me he's never heard of them getting any bigger than a foot! I said, well your son sold them a 20 gal tank, and he said that a 20 is plenty for the first year or so, if they are keeping the GG and a pleco only. Nuff said, I won't be back there any more.
my ex-freind has 12 tetras, 2 plecos and 2 'some kind of big' catfish in a 10g...and i am apparently an incompetant idiot because i do not agree with her and the guy at the lps that this is okay.....gggrrrrrrrrr.......
