55g Planted tank (The Start)

Thanks Guys and Gals
The "website"/blog was made just out of boredom.. now lets see if the laziness will kick in during updates..

As great as the tank looks, i still had some minor algae issues which carried on from the time i was "trying" to use diy co2 on this tank.. Well I finally decided to give the tank a resting period of 3-4 days. Turned off the co2/lights, covered the tank with black garbage bags and added an airstone.. Time for the dark side to do its thing on algae.
:evil_lol: See you on Friday Night!! :evil_lol:

weekly update anyone??

My tank is ready for halloween. Its costume..... A garbage bag lol

In reality i decided to do a blackout (3-4 days) to fight some minor algae. Today took a peek and saw a great decrease. Even BBA which normally doesnt care about blackout was pretty much gone. Perhaps the SAE got extra hungry and ate it?
But either way tomorrow the tank is going back up.

Wouldn't it rot under there? :) I'm looking forward to seeing the pics tommorrow.

nope, if plants are healthy (which in my case they were with the blasting co2/ferts and light) then they will come out just fine from the blackout. Plus when ppl ship plants across the states and that takes 2-4 days plants arrive healthy.

Either way Ive decided to strip the covers and tease the plants a bit with a few hours of light. All are looking good, though as expected some of the plants lost the color in the new growth, but with a few days of steroids and it should be kicking rainbows.

Wow, I wanna see pics tomorrow man!
not sure if ill post anything tomorrow but the tank looks the same as it did in the last update, though i did trim the hygro on the left side.
