My Second Betta-First Vailtail :)

So I went into Petsmart to get some kitty litter and of course I had check out the Bettas first. One stood out to me, he was surrounded by all these blue and purples and he was just staring at me. I took a closer look and he flared as if to tell me "what are you looking at?!" I knew he had to be young, he was half the size of all the others and his beautiful flaring beard hadn’t filled out yet. As I walked away to get the he moved along with me as far as he could go in that dumb little cup giving me the saddest eye...
I went on, bought the litter, did some more errands and dropped stuff off at the house. I couldn’t stop thinking about that little betta. I had to have him. So I went back, bought him and a new 2.5gal (a matching one to my CT, Hattori Hanzo's). I already had a silk plant, a terracotta pot for a hide and some large stones at the house. I’m setting up his tank right now and will soon start to get him used to his new water. I’m going to get some Java Moss tomorrow. I haven’t thought of a name just yet.

What type of color/pattern is he?

I know, 76 to 82 degrees is best for bettas. Our room usually stays in the upper 70s, low 80s due to the 2 bearded dragon tanks and hermit tank we have, but since the weather has been a little chilly we are going to be getting small water heaters.
 
He's very handsome. I've noticed that color pattern (light pink with blood red spots) before, and think it's neat. And, FWIW, veiltails are my favorites. But, how do you introduce a betta that's been trapped in one of those torture cups to a tank? Does the store bag him for you, or do you have to float the cup in the tank?

Yes, it is marble. I have a marble veiltail with splotches of orange, blue, red and green. Couldn't resist to get him so he now resides in one of my tanks. I'm getting obsessed with bettas.:D Funny thing most of what people got is almost similar to mine.:dance:

I wouldn't necessarily call the cups "torture". If people change water a lot, then it is not a problem as the betta isn't kept in ammonia tainted water. Stores here sell them in bottles, cups, etc. They pour the whole thing to the plastic bag. I acclimate the fish before introducing them to their new homes. Not a chance pouring the dirty water into my tanks either.
