Could anyone here recommend a site where I could buy a 125 gallon (72"x18"x24") long tank? I'm toying with the idea of replacing my current tank with a brand new one.

glasscages.com

Or just have your LFS order one for you. 125 isn't too crazy, its a standard size so most stores should be able to get one in.

I have bought from Glasscages.com Great place to buy large tanks cheap..Shipping is costly buy you save enough on the price to make up for it..

Yeah There are 2 LFS's in my area that sell this size. I was just hoping to find a better deal online. Though the shipping would probably cost an arm and a leg.

With this being said, I might have a 125g tank to sell for cheap soon in the Northern Virginia area.

Yeah they have one for $350. I'm going to try and haggle with my LFS to see if they can match the price..

:) Buying large tanks on-line is usually a pricey venture. Shipping is often the killer (especially glass) although acrylic ain't no 'day at the beach' either. Better off trying to get your LFS to order it with his/her regular shipment. Then you, a couple of friends, a pickup & a 'case o brew' can get it to the house. (hold the brew till after the tanks safely in the house )! Haggle w/ the mgr. on tank price or tank / stand combo or even additional accessories. (quite often theres some wiggle room cause they like 'big ticket' sales) If you have the 'cheddar' or you just want an idea of the pricing for comparisons ......

http://www.thepetstop.com/fish_shop/Aquariums/Tenecor/ (my favorite)

http://www.glasscages.com/ (prices are lower cause they cut out the 'middle man' & sell direct to you)

Good luck, "T"

Yeah, I looked into it, and buying online vs local for big tanks is pretty much the same price. Shipping large tanks is so expensive that it kills whatever discount you find.

The one advantage is, as far as I understand it, glasscages makes a nicer tank than all-glass or any other large-scale manufacturer, so you pay the same price(maybe a little less) for higher quality.

there is one more option with glasscages.. if they are attending any shows near you ... you can order the tank and they charge a fraction of the cost of shipping..you just pick up the tank at the show.
