i cant take the wait any longer

... and hopefully recognize what a dumb move this was so you won't jump the gun when things level off the next time.

chill there buddy, just because you don't agree with the method here doesn't make it dumb.

yes it does katu, sorry but i have to agree with corax there. adding more fish while cycling makes the cycle go longer and adds more un nesasary stress on your fish. blk skirts as it is arent very hardy either making the chance of death higher. if i were u i wouldnt buy more fish until your cyle is over. monitor the params VERY closely and do water changes as nesasary. but i see where your coming from it is hard to wait while your tank cycles!

sorry you don't agree with what i've done. i appreciate all the info you're giving me and it's been very helpful. i'm aware of what i'm to do with the close monitoring of levels, i've been prisoner to it and this forum for a month and some change now... so that's something i'm willing to do. my black skirts i originally started with are alive and well, showing very healthy jet black finnage. as i continue the water changes these 4 new tetras will be fine as well. the only fish lost so far is 1 zebra danio, which was sucked up the python and thrown outdoors during a winter night in new england... now THAT you can call dumb.

i'm not trying to cause trouble, i hope we can just bury the hatchet. i'm a little p.o'd my tank is taking forever, and i jumped the gun. no reason for name calling though. the best lesson is through error - obviously some of you are speaking from experience when not to do something.

I so feel your pain Katuuuz...I believe I'd have done the same thing at this point :)

I wouldn't worry too much about it

When I set up my 55 gallon I cycled using some goldfish and was dying to add my cichlids. I seriously thought about it all the time. Once I have had 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and some nitrates I took the goldfish back and got my cichlids. It was seriously less than 24 hours.

I feel your pain about being impatient. I have since then almost completed my stocking and have only lost one fish which was not my fault. I had two bagged together and one beat up the other on the way home.
