55g tang ideas

I was thinking Synodontis petricola or maybe multipunctatus. I'd worry about a eupterus taking your shellies to the cleaners.

Oh yes they do get quite big for syno's man, i am supposed to be getting 5 syno multi's here soon about 3 to 4 inch mark pretty cheap..

As for mine i have multi's on the left brevis on the right and a mated pair of transcript's in the middle..
the multies and the brevis dont wage war or eat each others fry????

Those cookie cutters are worthless IMHO. I would use them as a guideline for possible mixings but they overstock the majority of the setups.

The brevis and multi's shouldn't have problems if you keep populations under control.

how do you keep them under control???
selling them?
big fish to eat them?

and how many is to many?

also would these work???

My LFS takes them in for credit. Before you follow through with this tank I would make sure you have an outlet for excess fry, as pretty much all your stock will breed pretty easily.

The leleupi would work in place of the julidochromis. Helianthus are similar to brichardi/n. pulcher as they will aggressively defend fry. I wouldn't sugget them in a smaller community setup.
