1 + a friend = 38 gallon tank
Hi! I'm from Oregon and I have 4 tanks right now. I have Lake Malawi Cichlids (in my 38 G), Platy's, Cory's, and various other community fish in the others. I will soon be upgrading the community fish to a 25 G high, which will make them happy campers. This is the 3rd time we have gotten into fish as a hobby, but this time I am the primary fish person in the house. I am enjoying learning a lot about my fish, and hope to learn even more here. Maybe I will even be able to help others, since I've learned a LOT over the past 6 months.

Welcome to AC!

Welcome. "Oregon, Middle of nowhere" You must live in eastern Oregon. I Grew up in eastern Washington and now live in Portland. There are days I would envy you living over there and other days I am glad to be out of the east side of the Cascades.
Since you like cichlids, you need to visit The Wet Spot next time you are in Portland if you haven't already. The owner, Steve Lundblad is an expert in African Cichlids and has made multiple collection trips to Africa.

Since I'm originally from the Seattle area, I travel through Portland quite a bit and would love to know where "The Wet Spot" is? Sounds like an excellent place to check out! Yep, I'm living in the middle of eastern oregon, but have lived in quite a few cities. There are definitely things I miss about the city, but I would miss this area too if I had to leave. It's a lot like the town I grew up in, except that town has grown massively since I left!
