Frag Rack.. check out the coralline in just 1 month. Those are the tubbs blue zoas in front. Green Slimer frags encrusting to the plug in the back.

Tiny tip of the green slimer I broke off when fragging and I glued it to a rock, look at it encrusting to it.

A new fish store is opening near me and all they are going to handle are reef critters. I'll have to take some photos in and see if he can get some stuff for me.
 
Ace, in your first post of this tank you have the pvc and nozzles on your return and now they look to be removed, I have 2 questions.
1) why did you remove them and go with the flexible lines
2) what is the name of those nozzles

It's called Loc-Line and pretty much are solid but can be directed for flow. They are pretty cool in that you can make them whatever length you need and can direct the water flow where you need it.
 
Decided to redo my moonlights today. Made a little tutorial.

So Step 1, cut some rectangles of plexiglass and drill small holes in it. I used this LED Calculator to figure out the best way to use the least resistors. I am going to use 100ohm resistors, one on each set of 2. I am going to solder everything together and use speaker wire in a strip to connect it all. I drilled holes and hot glued one of each LED to the rectangles.

Step 2, Solder the LEDs together and solder the resistor to one side. Doesn't matter which side or which was the resistor is pointing.

Next use a hot glue gun to seal the exposed wiring.

Finally, splice each side into speaker wire and solder and seal with hot glue. Attach to proper power adapter. I am using a 9v DC 500ma.

Test it out and install above your tank.

Enjoy the nice new moonlights. Picture does not even come close to the look unfortunately. It is not nearly as bright as the picture looks but certain corals really "Glow".

I removed the penductors and went with the loc-line because it was actually too much directed flow with the penductors. Like little fire hoses coming out... not the type of flow I was really wanting after trying it out.

This picture more closely matches the looks of the moonlights. Still don't get the shimmer effect or the glow of certain corals in the picture unfortunately.

Also, small edit on Step 2 of the process. While it doesn't matter which way the resistor is pointing nor where in line you solder it, it does matter which direction the wires go on the LEDs. There is a positive and negative side to each, the longer of the 2 wires being positive. In my setup I made the resistor solder to positive before the first LED gets power. Then you solder negative to positive when linking the LEDs.

holy kwap that looks so komplex. im in the process of building a 1100 ltr 3 tank settup, and it will look nuthing like yours. Now im wonderering if i got it right.
if i was more computer literate i would post the build progress.
im a firm beliver of simplisity.
