Just how long can a fish go w/o eating? :(

I tried giving some flakes soaked in crushed garlic
Everyone else went nuts, gourami, nothing :(

I'm not giving up though...

To be honest the fish doesnt look very well yet. The dorsal fin is still hunched backwards and not erect like it should be. It still looks kinda sickly...But that may just be the picture. In the wild fish can go weeks without food, or very little. I wouldnt worry about starvation quite yet. But you can try turning off the lights in the tank. Then try feeding. Sometimes the light is just too much of a distraction. Imagine being a fish and looking up at the surface into bright lights. I dont use a light in my tank at the moment. I kow it doesnt look as good as a viewer. but maybe itll help. Give it a whirl.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!

FWIW, both pics were taken while she was swimming :)
Her injury does look a lot better, no?

Again, thanks!

It looks much improved. I use the juice from jarred garlic, let it soak in for a few minutes. Or I crush some diced fresh garlic.

That's what I did Rachel, I crushed some fresh garlic
All of the other fish went crazy for it, but the gourami just swam past it :(

I'm going to keep offering up though :)

Thanks for your suggestions guys!

Agree with all above. When I first moved my ID (pangasius) shark cat, he went 12 days without touching a lick of food. Now, he is THE pig of the tank. Looks like you're taking great care of the specimen... keep up the good work!

That REALLY gives me hope Dr!!
Thanks sooo much!
