exactly. if something is illegal, its illegal for a reason.

thats like saying someone can still possess illegal drugs because they had them before they were legal. doesnt work like that.

plus, the fish is in a tank that is way to small. look at the bend in the poor fish's back because the width of the tank is way to small.
 
needless "letter of the law" interference like this is one of the reasons people dump invasive/illegal fish to begin with. when the laws were passed, did the expect every fishkeeper with a snakehead to get out the vodka and clove oil? i'm sure some kept them like this guy, some gave their fish to other people, and some said "I don't want to get in trouble" and let the darn things go.
 
Update; Rocky still Needs your help......

Just to update a little. Rocky was scheduled to be put down last Thursday at 2:00pm. The DEC decided to postpone it because of all the local news publicity. This is now turning into a nationwide news story.
