150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

Amen DrVader, time to abide your new master....

Waiting for Vader to tell Luc that he finds his lack of faith... "disturbing"... LOL!

See now Vader, you have to come up with something to raise that bar again. The master never teaches his pupil EVERY trick he knows, LOL!

I did point out some imperfections in the hood this morning, so all hope is not lost. The bar can indeed be raised.
Talking about it, you disappointed me 'short-cutting' your usual meticulous attention to detail Coy. Must have been a momentarily laps of reason...(or the wife asking for your credit-card to go shopping..:help:.)

Updates ~~

It's coming together - we got the timers set for the lights and fans (the paper towels are just checking for any other leaks - a little over cautious perhaps).

Also pinpointed the leak on the 2217 - just below the coupling where the green eheim tubing attaches. We contacted the supplier and they said they would contact eheim and get a replacement quick coupling out to us.

We also have got all the doors on, along with the knobs. The doors are pretty much lined up and done.

The tank is starting to clear and the danios are starting to clear out (ouch). The Co2 level is holding pretty steady at about 25ppm. The blyxa is shredding - looks to be dying off. The java fern and anubias are pearling a bit and seem to be doing okay. One bunch of the penny wort just floated away and was moved to the 45 (nursery) for now. We also have a few rocks to add to the hardscape the next time we pop the canopy - likely this weekend.

That is absolutely stunning! One of the nicest looking setups I have ever seen...:thm:
As your sig says "You may be done; but you are never finished!"-so what's next?:evil_lol:

Beautiful! I would have probably gone a bit deeper with the substrate though.

Coy, Avionics30 has a very good point there.

I know your stand is covering the bottom-rim of the tank, but how many inches of gravel do you have exactly?

To really get good plant-growth, please don't go any less than 7 inches at the back, sloping down to 5 inches at the front. More is better, less is out. Learned that from experience myself.
Depth is really important here.
