So... I had my first encounter with acrylic... making a lid for an aquarium I bought off craigslist. Its a funny size so I had to make a custom lid. My thumb is VERY unhappy about that... The acrylic snapped and went straight into it. Right between where the pointer finger and thumb connect... Nice big slice... can barley type- cant use the thumb... ON MY RIGHT HAND. LOL. Should have been wearing gloves... *shrug*

but the tank looks awesome!

Anyone else have Acrylic horror stories??? lol.

I never worked with acrylic. My custom lids are glass, and I get it cut to size and the edges smoothed when I pick it up. I'd scratch up the tops removing hard water deposits and algae, so glass works better for me.

Yea- I should have done that... LOL. Cheaper to do acrylic though... :( Don't know if it was worth the blood, sweat and tears. Its a PAIN IN THE "BUTT" to break and score.

I wont be squeezing anything for awhile lol. It hurts to pull toilet paper off the roll hahahahahhaa.

Thanks for the sympathy! :)

HAHAHA. Now i have their jinggle in my head. "Cha cha cha- Charmin!" lol. Thanks a lot!
