HI, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT CORY'S BUT THE BRISTLENOSE PLECO'S ARE A SUPER POOP MACHINE, SO YOU HAVE TO BE UP ON CLEANING, THEY ARE SUPER GREAT ALGAE EATERS BUT THEY DO NOT CLEAN UP FISH POO AS SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE....GOOD LUCK......

noobie... corys... i think they're kinda cute, but way more interesting bottom feeders out there... they will be great to learn with, then you could trade them in and get your bn after a while

If your tank will be planted, I'd go with cories.

Something to consider, a single BN would prolly be less of a load on the tank than 6 cory's... the cory's will be more active, but the look of the BN is cool (particularly the male) also, w/ the angel or gourami q, how tall is the tank? remeber angels can get up to 12' tall, and like to have vertical room beyond that... if going with the pearls, I would go with a mated pair (one male, one female)... I've heard multiple males will fight w/o enough room.... and the way my pair act together is cool... I have heard that the male will get really agressive around mating time, but only if something gets too close to his nest.

I would personally go with both too, but that leaves you with no additional stock room, IMO for your additional schools. Also, I would think 6 lemon tetras would be easier on your bioload compare to 6 platies. So if you decide to go with an Angel, 6 tetras, 6 cories and bristlenose, you are almost full.

I have both in my 55g... The cories are awesome fish. Super hyper, and never see them slow down. They're a blast to watch. They can be pretty humorous in their actions.

My bristlenose isn't really that shy, like most say. He has no problem sucking on the front pane of glass even during the middle of the day, full lights, and he's still young, and not full size yet.

They both do an awesome job on helping keep the bottom clean, and my bn loves the driftwood. He's fun to watch scoot across the tank when you get to see him.

I have 3 bandit cories, and 3 bronze cories. They school together often, even being different varieties. They don't mind hanging out with one another. A couple of the bronzes are still young, and aren't full grown.

You really can't go wrong with either one :)

My bristlenose was also not shy. His fav position was to stick under the driftwood upside down but clearly visible. I don't know how these guys can stay upside down for that long... Its like you are sucking on something using your mouth to support the entire body mass... Ouch. :D
