Daffers is almost 11 years old...and now is the time I decided she can start to carry her own weight when we go hiking or on little trips. Thought I would share! Here in Michigan, the weather is starting to tease us both and we are both itching to get into the woods at some point soon. She is ready now!

Nice! I never got around to getting a backpack for my JRT growing up. I didn't know they made them that small, lol!

I had my dividend from REI and saw this today. I never saw them at this size until today. It is pretty roomy. I just made her practice with it empty. But she will have to carry her own water and treats when we go.

My JRT (well, now my parents) was nuts on the trail. I wish I had one of those back then to slow him down! He was always looking for something to hunt and chasing squirrels.

I want to get one of those so bad for my dog... It might work to tire her out! I know why they are called terriers (from the word "terror") now! LOL

Looks like she is enjoying the nicer weather :)

The only thing that tires a Jack out is death, I think. Hiking 5 miles is sort of like that for her. 9 miles and I don't see or hear her for a week after we get home. Not sure if that is "tired" or "mad".

I love the handle on the back! :p:

Me too! It's a good way to snatch her out of the muddy river banks that she always seems to linger towards..you know, the ones with all the BLACK MUCK! They must have good doggie smells or something.

My weimaraner loves her back pack. When we're just out for a regular walk sometimes I just put soup cans in it. It's really nice for hikes her being able to carry her own water and food :)
