Hot Water Tap

Hey everyone.. am I like the only one who only uses tap water from the cold faucet to refill my tanks?

I read quite often where someone runs their refill water from both taps to match the tank water's temperature. I've always been told it's a huge no-no to do this, so I never have. It's not just a problem with copper pipes, from what I understand.. but other build-up of metals deposited in hot water heaters.

What's really the story on this? Is water that comes through the hot water tap safe enough?

I've used the hot water to match water temps for a long time. Never seen any ill side effects.

If it's okay, that would give me a lot better water pressure for the python.

i have used both hot an cold mixed fine for years,..

i use cold..... but only because i have no hot in the basement lol
