Snail Newbie

Gary and the new guy! Gary is the apple snail. Can anyone tell me what the cone shaped fella is? Plus a bonus of Sparky posing!

Very cute!

I don't - it doesn't look like a malaysian trumpet snail (what I was first thinking) at least not like mine. How does it crawl. MTS snails almost inch worm along pulling their shells along. They also have the foot and a feeding tube that always are out on min -- let me go get a pic. BRB

The cone shaped snail is a malaysian trumpet snail, your snails are so cute but I don't think the trapdoor snail gives live birth I am pretty sure they are egg layers. Assuming I correct here, and don't quote me, then the babies are not trapdoor snails.

Here's on of my MTS - sorry, it's a little blurry, I was in a hurry :)

Maybe there are different types of MTS, but the shape of the foot looks different, and I don't see the feeding tube on yours.

The Trapdoor snails are live birth. I watched her have the first three. They are one of the few that do from what I understand. This is a good thing because it keeps the population down. They have a nine month gestation from what I have read and can have up to 15 babies. I just didn't think it would take almost two months to have 12! lol!
