Found these snails labeled as Brown Snails. They also had Gold Snails. No scientific name, and was wondering what they actually are.

If you could, give me your thoughts and a degree of certainty (like "I'm 212% sure that that's a Malaysian-Assassin-Apple hybrid")

Hopefully these pics post o.k. Thanks for the help, Snail Masters!

Nevermind... people with more knowledge answered. :)

Ok... what's the difference between the diffusa and the bridgesii? Inquiring minds want to know.

They had Mystery Snails labeled in other tanks. These came out of the "Brown Snail" tank. Those were the only three classifications - Brown, Gold, & Mystery. But apparently, they really only had two :) - Gold & Mystery.

Mystery snails have over 20 color variations. Golds are still mystery snails. Shop employees do like to make up names.:screwy:

Diffusa and bridgesii are the same snail bridgesii is the older scientific name and have been reclassified as diffusa.

Well, I am eager to find out if they eat plants, or if they eat algae (and if so, how voraciously). How does it compare to a nerite, etc.

i am 112% sure they are snails other than that i'm lost
