Got the infamous "death sticks" which turned out to be pebbles :S.Today through a trade, that supposedly killed off a shrimp tank, and I opted to trade my wild type neos for the food and I might as well do a comparison of the foods :O. Me and my shrimp live dangerously to experiment with the likely food culprit .

Definitely have some wild neos eating the Shrimp Cuisine in the container, but about 80% of the shrimp are eating the shirakura. In the beginning of added the container of food, all the wild neos were climbing on each other on the edge wondering what was inside and finnally a few jumped in. That was the Shrimp Cuisine, some were interested and grabbed a pebble and swam away others did not care.

5 minutes later I added shirakura and immediately all 4 pieces was swarmed by wild neos.( took out 2 pieces, broke into 4).

Conclusion, maybe the wild neos prefer shirakura more seeing that is what they primarily eat. Though I do have some eating the Shrimp Cuisine. I have yet to try the experiement with the Red Cherry Shrimp.

Hopefully I do not have a tank full of dead shrimp :lipssealedsmilie:.

lol that would suck
good luck with the experiment!

Good luck!

I'm going to be keeping an eye on this thread. I've been wanting to try out one of the foods you are experimenting with. Please keep us updated. Thanx!

Great experiment! I was wondering how those new hikari shrimp pellets fared. Shirakura still tops them all :)

Nice experiment. I've been wanting to try new shrimp foods as well too.

I'll be looking forward to seeing upcoming results with the Red Cherry shrimp.

Wild Type Neos / Tiger Shrimp Test #1 Results: Shirakura attracted the most shrimp, after being added 5 minutes after the Shrimp Cuisine was placed. I forgot to add that Tigers were also in the tank, and also preferred the Shirakura.
Conclusion: Shirakura > Shrimp Cuisine.

Red Cherry Shrimp Test #2 Results: Same results as Test #1, Shirakura was added after the Shrimp Cuisine and within seconds of being dropped into the tank the RCS swarmed the Shirakura.
Conclusion: Shirakura > Shrimp Cuisine.

Game over -____-. Dog ate my packet of Shrimp Cuisine did not get to test my yellow shrimp.

I just received some of the Hikari food. I can't believe how pricey this is! 10 grams for $4.00 versus 90 grams of Shirakura for $15.00 shipped. I say its a no-brainer! This was a good experiment DarrylR! My shrimps (RCS and dark greens) prefer the Shirakura as well. :)

Thanks for the update DarrylR! Will be getting Shirakura food soon.

How was the color of your shrimp eating the Shirakura food, as opposed to the Hikari food? Better color enhancement?
