I just saw some beautiful, healthy, happy, frolicing, clown loaches at my lfs. There were 5 or 6 playing together. She's asking $14.99 each.

Is that the norm? I can't buy them yet anyway: I'm waiting on a bigger tank.

Just curious. I've never seen them live and in person, and I now understand why there is so much ardor over these guys.

They run about $5-$6 around here at the LFS but I have seen them at Petsmart I believe for $8.99. They were about 4 inches though way bigger then the small ones for $5.

i picked up 10 little 2" guys for $5.99 each. were getting another 20 from an individual for $5 each. once they hit about 4" the price seems to skyrocket. they are popular again, which makes the price jump

The color was very deep and rich, they were big... I'd say 6 inches.

Melody that's a good price for a 6" clown loach. One of the managers of an LFS was telling me that the prices have gone up several dollars each in the past few months. For a 1.5 - 2" fish they're priced at 12.99.

yeah in my neck of the woods, for one under 2" it's $12.99. The other day I saw a 5" one for $50. It's completely dependant on the size and if you're going to a chain store or a LFS. The absolute cheapest I've seen is at petsmart for $8.99.

Here in Canada, our Petsmart started off selling Clowns for $10 (about an inch each), then they raised the price to $20 for a while. They recently lowered it to $10 again, and I'm waiting for some good looking guys to show up so I can get some buddies for my Big Pig. They're always kind of skinny, though, so I continue to wait. The other day, though, I walked in Petland just to look around, and I see they're selling Clowns now (they didn't used to). They're better looking, fatter and maybe a couple centimetres bigger, for about $13 or $14 (I can't remember). I've been debating whether to actually get one for that higher price just for the better looking ones, or to just wait for a healthy-looking cheaper one at Petsmart. Hmmm. I can't deny I get jealous at other people's reports of better prices, though.
