New Turtle

Thanks Jinkz, I should probably open up a zoo!

Do you have a "reptile room" as opposed to a fish room in your house? :grinyes:

Sort of, my reptiles and some of my fish are in the basement. But I have 2 fish tanks upstairs as well and a turtle pen outdoors.

Your turtle is very cute. I love baby turtles, I have to stay away from them at the reptile shows, especially this time of year. I used to keep a lot of turtles, I had spotted turtles and they were really fun to watch. Do you keep any spotted turtles and why do you say they are harder to keep?

Thank you. I have never kept spotted turtles long term. Just a few weeks to study them and then release them back to where they were found. They're not too difficult to keep but they are a little more fragile to keep than say a similar sized musk, mud, or painted turtle. This is a species that likes a little more land area then basking species and they do quite well in a paludarium style enclouse with 1/4 land to 3/4 water. Captive bred ones are very expensive so if one was to get one, they should do plenty of homework first.

Some updated pics of the little begger. :)
