I had a piece of glass from a picture frame and some scrap bits of mdf and foam laying around, so I made an experimental little box.
I wanted it to look like it had been carved out of a solid block of sandstone.
first I made a 1:5 model out of cardboard-

then I glued together some mdf, and bogged and sanded it.-

carved the foam into rocky shapes-

then I put the glass in the front and fly screen in the sides and back. then coated it with a couple of coats of epoxy, sand and soil dust-

it has a wee slidey door on the side for feeding or whatever-

I haven't got anything to put in it, its a bit small anyway, only 310mm wide.
It can go outside and get covered in moss- inside and out.
I just made it because I love diy.

you should put a cool spider, or something buggy in there

a tiny scorpion would be cool

Nice work! I really like how the stones came out.

I agree, that would be a very neat arachnid enclosure.
