fish that people seem to love but you dont care for

theres a lot of posts on here of people suggesting fish, or just telling their fish stock, and you obviously get what you like and thats great, but everyone is gonna have atleast a couple of fish that make them think "why would you want that!"

for me, heres a couple.

-danios. really, ive only seen zebra danios and i just dont get why people always suggest a big school of them...theyre not really colorful (show me pics if they are) and they remind me of slugs/snails cause of the color pattern.

-most cat fish/bottom feeders. weird lump bodies, and some of them have a slug design on their body. yuck!

-gouramis. although good looking..they just float there. atleast in tanks at pet stores. not fun to watch.

-black skirt tetras. they're usually washed out whenever i get to see them..and their fins are odd shaped to me (long finned BST are worse). i prefer a "sharper" shape of fin i suppose... something like a tiger barb.


dont mean to be a bashing thread, but all these threads are always about how nice a fish is, or how pretty it is..lets see the otherside.

Common Plecos, Goldfish, Parrot fish, SAE, and painted/tattooed fish!!!!

any of the fish with distorted body types I like them to look more natural. (I don't even like long fin varieties that much)

i have no interest in guppies, nor in mollies, platies, swordtails, any of that. i don't know why, i just don't get excited by them and usually don't find them aesthically pleasing.

i am also vehemently against fish that have been altered in any way, shape, or form.

Nothing against the fish themselves, but I probably would never have these in my personal tanks.

Fancy goldies, just not a big fan.

Plecos/catfish, they just don't do much for me, with a few exceptions. Besides, a lot of them hide all the time.

Chinese algae eaters, quick and pointless.

Dragon gobies, ugly.

Oscars, big and messy and "common."

most large fish.. lol the really expensive large fish like birchirs and oscars and green terrors and jack dempsies idk i just think theyre all really wierd and ugly

oh, i should add that most cichlids (angels aside) just look like retarded rednecks to me. they just look like they float around all day saying "duuuuur" and drooling on themselves.
