Hi all, been a while since my last post. Heres the update:
54 Corner take, emperor single wheel filter + fluval in tank filter.

3 (what i think) blue peacock malawai's
2 arturus
1 levinstony (sp?)
3 yellow labridochromis

1 BABY!
Saw it tonight when i was feeding them, about a half inch long. Had no idea they would spawn in this kind of tank. Its blue and brown, but i cant find it to get a pic now. My feeling is that if it has survived this long (i only see 1, there may be more) there isnt much i can do. I put some leaf spinach on my veggie clip down by the bottom, and if i can catch him i have a floating quarantine that might help. Im sort of at a loss on what to do. Help!

Have you got lots of rockwork ? And how big is the baby ? If its clearly visible, then its pretty much been able to make its own way so far and is likely to continue to do so - also if you can see one there's probably five more around that you havn't seen.

Basically continue as you're doing - nice clean water a must.

You're obviously keeping great parameters at the moment if there are fry - its a nice compliment your fish are paying you.

When you say arturus do you mean auratus ? Keep an eye on those bad boys/girls - they are capable of serious nastiness.

Livingstonii is the spelling you're looking for, or probably nimbochromis livingstonii to give it its full name - those get large - do a google search.

I have a feeling your blue peacocks are likely to be ahlis -Sciaenochromis ahli.

Again, google those guys and see what you make of the pictures. You may have to adjust your stock as if those are ahlis, you've got some large haps together with nasty mbuna and some gentler souls as well - the labs.

How big are they all at this stage ?

Good job with the fry :D

The Baby!

The original 6 (3 yellows, 3 peacocks) are 2 years old now. from 3.5-4.5" long.
The added 3 came from a chain LFS when my LFS flooded out last summer. In a cichlid "misc tank"
2 auratus, 1 livingstonii, they are over a year old in this tank as well. Everyone appears healthy?
