Hey, I am considering running co2 throught my c-160...has anyone ever had major problems while running it through? I just want to know to see if I should do this or not. Thanks!

No issues here, running it through Eheims canisters, either through the intake or output via a reactor.

I would suggest the output, you don;t want air chop in the impeller.

Sorry Painballer99, I also have the same question and I don't want to make another thread. Rizz, what if my reactor (both can be used as ext. int) input size is smaller than the filter output, would it disturb the output current or put more pressure on the filter?

I have been pushing pressurized co2 through an Eheim Pro II 2026 for about 6 years now with great results. the Eheim runs as well and as quietly as the day I got it. I chose Eheim because J was afraid any other filter would not stand up to the gas.

I pipe the co2 directly into the filter intake so the impeller can chop itl all up. I would not try this with diy co2 as it will likely suck the mixture into your tank.

Well some say that as long as the tube is not in the mixture itself...the mixture should not be sucked up. I'll do a test before I put the mix in though.

I use an inline reactor with a single Bio-ball with my cascade 500. The Cascade canister filter is rated at 115ghp. With the in-line co2 reactor it didn't seem to slow down the flow of the filter at all.

I currently have a 40g with two filters cause I used to have two smaller 29g tanks. I use the cascade 500 and an Ehiem 2232.

In my opinion the in-line reactor has proven to be very effective. especially with a bio-ball inside. I get zero waste and bio-ball helps break-up the CO2 bubbles in the reactor. Through the output.
