Starting a Cichlid tank soon, need advice!

Not many plecos will eat algae but i wouldn't put one in a tan that size with an oscar. If you really want an oscar then that will be all you can have in the tank unless you get a tank bigger than 75g.
I think oscars are great fish with loads of personality, mine used to jump out of the top of his tank to tank food from my hand.

I suggested a sev in your other thread. Also they come in several colors.

The sev sounds like a good idea, but do they have personality like the oscars, thats what really drove me to want an oscar?

My 2 severums are like puppy dogs. They come right to the front begging for food when I go near the tank. They have lots of personality.

I think im going to make it a community tank with the one Severum, maybe 2, im not really sure yet. Here's what I have so far:
Serverum x1 maybe 2 (need feedback)
Red tail black shark x1
Bristlenose Pelco x2
Tiger Barb x8
Congo Tetra x7

Sounds like a good stock list but i would leave out the shark, they are more hassle than they're worth.

Maybe do a school of 6 yo-yo loaches instead of the shark. They are a riot!

Yeah good idea, ill switch out the shark for 6-7 Yo-Yo Loaches. Do I have room for much else or am I mostly full? Could I add a second Sev or a different medium/large cichlid that would get along with the rest?

Do you think all this will fit in my 75gal tank? I only have the tank right now so I could use any suggestions when it come to filters, lights, heaters.

The JD doesn't fit the bill as a community fish...even with more robust species. I'd nix that one from the list.
