My neighbors are complaining about the pump powering an airstone in a brine shrimp tank. How I can quiet vibration noises from an air pump and stop them from vibrating through the walls?.

Normally I try to get quiet equipment because I have to listen to it too if it's noisey.
But thing is, I don't want to replace equipment for what is going to be a temp setup, esepcially when I have a heap of older air pumps I can use.

Try setting it on a scrap piece of carpeting to absorb some of the vibration, if it is a small pump that should quiet it down some.

You can try to put the pump on top of a sponge, or folded up towel. The vibrations is probably traveling from your desk/floor to the walls because there isn't anything soft to absorb it.

Hang it from fishing line so it is free in the air...

i've always used a folded towel to quiet the vibes

I saw somewhere once that someone had it dangling in a glass jar with a slit/hole in the lid for the cord.

If you have it choked back to reduce the flow, you could add a tee and valve and bleed off excess air and reduce backpressure on the pump.
