My 55 gallon African Cichlid Tank Before And After

Tank looks really good. Like most, I use eggcrate and actually have the bottom layer of rock on the eggcrate itself. Otherwise, my guys dig out the gravel and make everything unstable.

What did you scrub them with?

I soaked them overnight with a weak water and bleach mix, Scrubbed them in the bleach water then rinsed them really well and soaked them again overnight in water and water conditioner replacing the water the next day and let them soak another day. I let them dry completely overnight then placed them into the tank. Probably excessive rinsing but you can never be too carefull when it comes to your fish and bleach.

Thanks again for the comments!!! everyone is really great on this site :D

My procedure was a similar one: I put the rocks to soak in a container with tap water (it is already chlorinated) for 3 days. Then I scrubbed them with a brush to remove soil and dirt. Then I put the rocks to dry for another 2 days; after that I rinsed them well with clean tap water and... that was it!
