Anyone want to help me with choosing some fish for a 30 gal fish only tank?:1zhelp:

Thanks What about for under $250?

2 clowns, royal gramma, yellow watchman goby, and a some type of sailfin/algae blenny would be my stocking for that size tank. That is under $150 for all those fish at all the LFS around me.

Thanks ACE25

That sounds good. A nice smaller wrasse could work too. Is this a 30 high or something like a 30 breeder?

My only issue with smaller wrasses like flasher and fairy wrasses is they ALWAYS jump out so a covered top is a must.. there is no question "if" they will jump, it is "when" they will jump, and it is usually within the first couple weeks. My fav small wrasse is the McCoskers Flasher wrasse, but I tried 2 of them in my 29G at different times and both jumped within 4 days of being placed in the tank.

Very true Ace. Should have mentioned the jumping.

If by breeder you mean long then yes. The jumping wouldn't be a problem the tank has a lid on the entire thing except where the filter goes in.

Then do checkout the wrasse options. Great fish that bring a lot of color and movement to a tank. Some are reef safe while others aren't. The McCoskers is really cool IMO as well. Be aware that flashers typically need to be fed twice per day because of their metabolism. Some have reported success with once a day feedings so if you go that route, a bit more research may be needed to see if this is the right fish for you.
