hi everyone.

ive posted this on facebook already and thought that i should post this here as well.

im new here. i just want to ask, what could be the possible reasons why my angelfish ae dying. i just bought 12 of them in a local store. i did the SOPs when you have a new fish and transfering them into the aquarium. but after a day i saw 3 of them dead, later that night 3 more were found dead. then the next day 2 were dead and at night 1 was fond dead. and now 1 is swimming upside down and franticlly. what could be the cause of their death since there are no marks to be seen in the scales, fins, tail, gills and mouth.

Whats your pH ammonia other fish. Have you added in any knew things into the tank?? Is the tank newly set up? Are you running co2?
ph is around 6.5, i didnt add anything new aside from the fish, i fixed the tank a week before i bought the fishes. complete with filter, soil and plants. running co2?

Did you wash all that stuff before you put into the tank? If you are running co2 for the plants to you have a reactor or something? This doesn't need to be in general chit-chat because this is a question and you could put in general freshwater.
yup, i washed and soaked everything in water first before putting it into the tank.
i dont have anything running co2 aside from the fish.
oh. sorry. i didnt know, its my first time here

What does your Local Fish Store carry for testing supplies?? Did you wash all the stuff?
ummm... my local store from what i recall really doesnt have testing kits or whatsoever. actually the local sotre is like a big market where all the stalls sells fish and just sell the basic things like tank, soil/gravel, plants, filter, aerators and tubes. yup, i washed everything

a mod will probably move this thread soon

a test kit would would help to prevent deaths

how big is the tank?
whens the last time you did a water change?
