It is amazingly quiet. Only one vote, no random accusations, nothing. maybe we all should randomly vote and see who reacts to getting voted.
First one to suggest random voting.
I voted for Razz because he hasn't posted yet. Chose him randomly out of the three people who haven't posted (Razz, AlexW and JL). Probably will change my vote before nightfall.
To which jpap responds with
Red flags, for me, when this word gets tossed around...
Jpap, why did you pick up on the use of the word "random" from Ag when Rich was the first one to throw it out there?
If we vote random to gauge reaction, why tip people off at the same time? You've just forewarned them that everyone will be looking for reactions. Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.. if there is a purpose to this at all. Or maybe.. you just really wanted to post something but had nothing to say, eh Rich?
Good point Kash, and Rich really hasn't had much to say since then either...
You put out an apparent random vote on Ice and then call out Agas for being random. The more interesting part to me is he is not the only one who has admitted to choosing their vote randomly yet you singled them out.
Aren't most day 1 votes typically random anyway? Why does this cause red flags for you JPap and only for Agas apparently?
Struck me as a bit odd too, though at that time I was thinking Ag was a bit suspicious myself.
I'm not against randomly voting this early but when people preface their votes as random it seems fishy to me. I chose Agas's post because it was recent and he did just that.
But Rich was the one who started in with the suggestion that everone random vote. Why not call him on it?
My vote was going to stay on Razz if he didn't show up. It was not a random vote. I decided I was going to place my vote on someone who hadn't posted yet. Since Razz posted, my vote changed to another who hasn't posted.
Was it a random vote or was it not Ag? Was your second choice random between the two remaining non-posters or were you trying to not double up on a vote?
To everyone questioning my method. I did not include the people who hadn't posted yet. I just did a simple random from 1 to 13, so my name was actually still included. But, it didn't pick me so that wasn't an issue. Numbers were assigned as people claimed them.
My purpose was to get a vote out there which hopefully got people to start talking. I think it was a success. Now we have a lot more info out there than we did before. I know there is bias in my method, (by not including the non-posters, by not excluding myself) but I felt at the time of my post (7am my time) that stuff wasn't important for my purpose.
The website I used is:
http://www.random.org/
I'll buy this for now, an attempt to get people talking.
Is this the famous pap-trap(tm) that people (I think Kash in the last game or two) have referred to in the past?
Ask a vague question, get any answer, twist it into an accusation.
I retract my vote on dawg and vote to lynch jpap.
You've been grilling Ag for the last page about what's essentially a non-issue, you said so yourself.
I picked up on this too, really digging into Ag. I'll admit I was kicking bushes around Ag for a bit and still don't know what to make of him but jpap continued grilling him pretty hard.
Its not a "non issue" as I'm trying to get the bottom of Agass' logic that caused him to switch votes twice already.
And I can see that side of it too, was trying to figure that out myself.
I've been in Ag's shoes before, there was a time when I thought voting for someone who hasn't posted was actually a great idea, and method to get them to post. The fact is, it's not, and they don't People post when they can, Ag will learn that as he participates more and in more games.
I hope you're just bush kicking, and that you're a townie. You could be a great asset that way. If not I'd love to swing you from a tree. I feel like you set him up, and that's not something a townie would do on day 1.
Ag is not a noob and has participated in more games than I have. I do agree the whole jpap/Ag interaction has the feel of a set up. I'm still not sure which way to go with it, yesterday was leaning towards Ag being scummy but after giving it more thought I don't think I trust jpap.
I guess we will...
(said in the least mafia-like voice possible)
Your little qualifier there just made you sound like Tony Soprano.
As I stated in the sign up thread, I won't be able to post much until wednesday night or so. Here it is, wednesday night, and here I am. I've been skimming the thread here and there, and cracking wise (as is my style) to let everyone know I'm around. I threw out a vote on you because it just felt good after last time...:duh:, and because I wanted to see how you would react. I like that you seem to be kicking bushes. You seem a little more agressive this game.
You're right, you did say that.
As I'm reading through the thread, here's the thing that has me going hmmm...
It seems strange that a townie would try to clarify that they were trying to NOT sound like a mafia. This sounds more like the thought of a mafia trying not to sound like a mafia. Thoughts on this Jpap?
Also, it seems strange to me that you're raking Ag over the coals so heatedly. Don't worry, I'll pull some posts.

:
Agree. Looking forward to see those posts you're pulling and what you think about that situation.
Right now I've got three people at the top of my scum list.
1. Rich: has been around, posting here and there, but what insight have you provided the town? You did initiate the random voting which got people talking (a good thing), yet as Kash pointed out, this could be a good strategy to post without revealing anything. Also leads to a ton of confusing fingerpointing.
2. jpappy: You've gone awful hard at Ag, if you were laying bait for him he took it in one swallow. Looking back, he's jumping each time you poke him. If you're innocent, it's some good bush kicking, if you're mafia, excellent set up. I'm reserving judgment for now on that situation.
3. Agassizii: Either you fell for mafia trap or you have a guilty conscience to be as squirmy and non-committal as you have been. You're no noob, you had to know you would come under some fire for changing your vote so quickly. Not sure what to think of you either.
Right now my vote is torn among those three. I'm tempted to vote for Rich at the moment, but now that Zsand has retracted his vote for Rich my vote will lack power (for the moment at least). I am going to hold my vote for a couple more hours so hopefully more of my fellow townies can weigh in.
