Tank Log: 55g All Crypts Riparium

I really like that newest crypt! I recently got a couple new crypt types but not doing emersed (yet). Love the look! Any plant damage from the loaches? My loaches love to sample new plants, maybe emersed is the way?

That is a really cool setup. The fish look nice and bright, and the plants are wonderful.

Looks beautiful! Sorry if this has already been suggested but have you thought of taking that rim off?

Thanks very much. I would not be able to take the rim off this tank because the plants are mostly high-humidity selections that require a closed canopy.

Thanks! I haven't had any trouble from the loaches yet, but they are growing fast and getting more and more boisterous. I plant to switch them out soon. They really need a bigger tank.

I really like the plants in here a lot. Here is another view from above with a close up.

I really enjoy watching for blooms on these plants. Here's another kind of cool picture from last week. This is an open spathe of the large Anubias barteri that I removed from this tank to another one a little while ago because it was getting too big.

It is substantially larger than the spathe of A. barteri var. nana, but otherwise similar. Here is a second shot of the same regular barteri to show scale.

You can see the unopened developing spathe in this next picture, in front of the lighter-colored new leaf to the left, from a few weeks ago.

Thanks. That's actually not a crypt, but an Anubias. Both crypts and Anubias can bloom underwater, but they are more likely to bloom emersed.

I got a quick shot of this thing last night--overgrown again. I need to make some time to clean it up this week. The C. wendtii and Bolbitis there in the middle get too big pretty fast, but I like them a lot.

I am going to have some extra stuff after working on this tank. Anybody want some emersed crypts in riparium planters?
