Mafia 66: Farmers versus the Railroad - the play

Kashta, I just don't see how that works without just guessing as to how JL sent out the PMs. Not to mention the order has no bearing on the role the person was assigned since thats all random in the first place. Noods should know about not posting before the mod says "Game on" or even before roles are sent out, but hey...it's Noods ;)

The time stamp for my PM was 2:42 PM and Noods posted 10 minutes before that. If the PM's went out as fast as you're implying then I must have been one of the last people even though I'm third on the player list and I'm assuming JL just went in order (that's what I do). Although, he could have grouped teams into one PM, but again that would just be an assumption. I could see it being statistically possible but I hate when people try to guess the mod's intentions.

I just don't think that's a relevant reason to vote, even if it's just to get things started...that's a fall back excuse anyways.

I'm not at all interested in when the PMs went out or in what order, Pappy. I seriously doubt it makes a difference to any of us which ones were early or later anyway... besides, this isn't a question about JL's method of dispatching them. So I agree with you that we shouldn't speculate about the game mod at all.... but I am speculating about Noodles because her premature post is interesting.

What does concern me in a nit-picky way was Nood's claim that she posted "seconds" later. That was not a true statement... it was minutes, not seconds. So I pointed that out.

As for my vote, it was a random vote placed on the first person I saw doing something I could use to generate a little discussion on Day 1. If there's any merit to that at all, that's purely by chance.

I will add, however, that jumping the start like that IS a scum tell. The more I think about this now, the more I wonder if my vote might be a lucky shot in the dark. The exact same thing happened to me and it almost got me killed early in a game where I was scum. The reason I nearly got lynched right away was because others agreed that it's a scum tell.

^^ That included veteran players who were both evils and innocents in that game.

Okay Noods... so it's NOT a scum tell. Whatever you say. Think I'll still leave my vote where it is for a while and see who else wants to add their reaction or debate the point even more.

can you explain to (as you would to a five year old!) how posting too soon is a scum tell? ...because of course any "baddy" would be sure to jump the gun and call attention to themselves before the game even starts, right? :duh:
I made my apparently very interesting, erroneous post before I got a PM of any nature so not sure how it could be construed as indicative of any role. Do we have another player with ESP? *gasp*

Sure, I'll explain that, Noods. It's a scum tell because the person reads their role assignment and makes a quick meaningless post before they leave the thread to go communicate with their teammates. That's what I did... posted right after I found out I was evil that game. And I wasn't paying attention to the upcoming "game on" post from the mod because I was preoccupied with thoughts about who my evil teammates were... again, because I was on the evil team.

Then, of course, I tried to blow off all the attention that drew on me the same you're doing now. And I was lying through my teeth the whole time. BTW.. I also tried to argue that the FIRST thing I would do after getting an evil assignment was to go off to communicate with my scum team before posting anything in the thread. That wasn't true either, of course, and other players (both evil and innocent) didn't believe me. Apparently, the fact that it IS a scum tell is accepted as such.

Actually there was more to it than that - I remember the game well - We (eh I lol) saved you on a last minute vote switch night 1 having spent the day defending you. The 'more to it' was that your post was basically definitely that of a scum, based either on content or timing - I can't quite recall - but I was amazed anyone let you away with it.

I don't see what of Noodles post makes it inherently scummy - your attempt to compare it to your situation in the other game...is misconceived.

No, no no no...your post in the other game was actually blatantly a scumbag post because a I think about it now it was something about the timing of JL's pms which made it so. Seriously...your attempt to leverage this is really quite odd.

The content was "woo hoo, game on." LMAO. So I don't think content was my mistake that time. And the timing of JL's PMs was the only point I had in my favor that I could use in my own defense, which I did. So it's neither, Coler... simply jumping the start like that was the scum tell. All by itself.

Surprised me that I got away with that as long as I did, too.

Welcome back Jb, lol

^^ That's good... lmao. Welcome to all the fun.

Thanks guys I'll try not to disappoint. So far it seems like everyone's right in character... kash is bush kicking, noods is defending herself early (welcome back, Noods!), gotta love day 1...

Remember the good ol days when we talked about pizza toppings or shrubbery. I honestly don't know if fast posting is scummy or just anxiousness to start. I do see kash's argument but I also see the other side. I think the reaction by others and Noodles may prove more telling.
