Mafia #67 - 50/50 -- The Play

jpap, I think FF played very well last game and played very differently than he is playing now. In that game he was on the communicating evil team. I do not think FF is on a communicating team. I also don't think a communicating team will investigate him.

I think he is playing like the FF of old, now does that mean he is non-communicating mafia? Hard to say, he is playing just like he has when he has been non-communicating mafia and innocent.

I believe FF has played four complete games, this being his fifth. He has been a NCM, NCI, CI, and CM. He plays spastic no matter the role...I'm interested in how you can so easily distinguish the different playing types he has between the four roles.

"sure seems tempting" went to a vote in the same post. I would expect FF to play a little more conservative if he had a scum role. You really think his posts make him look nervous?

Yep, although that was more of a rhetorical question. I was considering waiting when I started typing but decided to vote anyways.

Another thing about this post bothers me. You're picking out players that have vocalized about not voting FF but didn't point out players that had no opinion either way. I know they haven't posted much but when they did why didn't they acknowledge the situation and why doesn't that bother you?

It does bother me, although I find it more suspicious that certain veterans are all of a sudden super worried about voting FF...you and Kash are much more aggressive than this, JL and JB to a lesser extent.

So the vote for FF is because he is playing like FF has in every game so far. Gotcha!

LOL...this is the same crap that got FF off the hook last game. Are we ever going to just drop the BS that FF playing like FF = innocent FF? I'm taking this situation in iso.

I think the whole 3rd vote thing is a scum sign is just plain :bs:. Why does it matter if I was third, or if I'd waited til later? FF got totally OMGUSy voting for me when I started questioning why he would ask scum to investigate him. Why did my questioning freak him out? I can't explain why Dag or DD didn't freak him out, maybe my questions were hitting home and scared him.

Did you miss the last game, the one you modded? You're suggesting we ignore him and let him float along, even with a good chance he's scum? That's some scummy suggestion there JL.

I was ready to move on from FF, but he surely has stimulated some interesting conversations. I am especially interested in those who are defending him or who are saying we should ignore him.

Like it or not its been true more times then not that 3rd on is usually scum. Its not 100% true so its not something most people point out especially Day 1.

The 2nd bolded statement isn't entirely true. He asked both to invest him. And from reading his post it looked to me like he thought if the mafia investigated him they would try to lynch him and out themselves.

Wiz has posted more then the other low posters but not 1 word had any substance to it at all. I also stated I hoped this would get him to post more. I think jumping on FF when he already had a good number of votes and many fingers pointed at him is a cop out also.

If you think someone is scum, then you vote for them in hope that they are lynched over the other suspects. It's that simple Ice...in the 40-50 some odd games you have played this has rarely changed, if ever. You've yet to show any indication of having a better suspect. A vote is not set in stone either and it does not mean you have to stop looking for suspects.

Lab, do you think FF is playing the same way he did last game?

I'm not saying that at all. I'm not saying FF is innocent and never have. I've explained why I think the way I do numerous times. FF has taken care of himself if he is mafia and in the process made the town tunnel visioned to himself and not looking at others. Even the players who don't want to vote FF for whatever reason are so caught up in answering posts to why not they don't have time to look at anyone else. Even if a player chooses someone else at least we're talking about other suspects and not just FF.

That may be so but would it not make more sense to scrutinize a third vote after knowing the role of the person who was being voted?

The second part is beside the point. FF said he was voting for Lab because she jumped on him. Anyone who denies that that is an OMGUS reason to vote is an idiot.

Last game I really never saw FF getting lots of attention, Kash vs noods took over most of the attention.

That has nothing to do with how FF played. That has to do with what the town jumped at first.

No, I think last game they did a good job of muzzling him. He's playing a lot like his very first game, when he was non-communicating mafia. Throwing a ton of craziness out there in hopes of confusing everyone. I've also seen what I take as signals he's sending to the communicating mafia team. He flat out asked them to investigate him. If he was innocent he would have asked the communicating innocents to investigate him instead of asking the scum to. He has a history of saying something scummy when he's scum, only to realize it and go back and correct it in a later post. Happened the entire game last time, and that was with a team keeping him semi-under control.
