Mr. Palmer walks though a town divided against itself. All this distrust, in only 1 1/2 days! Those vamps are doing a real good job of confusing us. He has placed his lot with Kashta, and voted against Ice, but still he worries. The town is talking in spurts and bursts, but not everyone is talking. Mr. Palmer decides to look into those who aren't talking much, because if the vamps aren't talking then the town is not looking in the right direction...
Basically, i think we should look at who hasn't been talking much today. I will be doing so presently.

I find your idea and your analogy somewhat flawed. Even on limited information we could have hit a vamp so to say with certainty that "the whole we might have hit a vamp doesn't apply" either shows a somewhat dangerous reliance on assumption or a disrespect for the intelligence of the town.
As for your terminal cancer patient, I had a friend with terminal cancer. The doctors called in his family as he was not going to make it through the night. He not only made it through the night but when into full remission. He lived 10 years cancer free, saw his kids graduate high school, get married, and give him grandchildren. He died last fall but he lived a lot in those 10 years, so no I wouldn't be shooting the guy with cancer.

I'm still not sure how I feel about going with the two horse race tonight. I see the merit in it, but something still doesn't settle quite right. I'm glad we have time to look at it further. My vote will most likely fall with either Kash or Ice, but what I'm looking at ATM, and what I'm wondering about from others is if both Kash and Ice were taken out of the equation, who would you be looking at?
