Mafia 80: Ghost Hunters

The Ghost Hunters-They do not know each other at game start, but they have the power to investigate to try and find each other. At game start each will send in a name they want investigated, and at each nightfall there after. Investigations will only show "non-Ghost Hunter" or "Ghost Hunter" until they all find each other. As they find one another investigations will be combined. Once they are all known to each other their investigations will show innocent or troubled spirit. If they have found each other by night 4 they will get a seance which will give them a hint. On nights 2 & 4 those able to communicate will be able to "take a soul", choose wisely as you do not want to take an innocent soul, there will be a leader among them that will choose if none are communicating at that time. If the same person is picked by both the GH's and the Murderer, that persons soul will be taken. The Ghost Hunters win, when all the troubled souls are gone.

The Dr.-Can protect one soul each night from being taken by the murderer. They do this by sending me the name of the person they wish to "protect" that nightfall. They can only protect any person two times, and can protect them self once. The protection is only for a "turn" victim, it can not stop a lynching. They also carry a vial that has 2 doses in it. They will change a soul and must be used by night 5 or the Dr will die. If it is used on a troubled soul or a ghost hunter they can not reveal anything to either team, and they now will communicate with both teams...only they work for the opposite side now. If it is used on the Murderer they will die.

Innocents-The towns people of AcVille, they need to work together to rid the mansion of the troubled spirits. They do this by voting to "take the soul" of those they think to be a troubled spirit. If they take the soul of the murderer, there will be no more souls taken by the troubled soul and the remaining troubled souls are on their own, able to communicate but unable to take any more souls to their side. They win once all the troubled spirits are gone.

The Murderer-Has the power of the "touch of death". After his murder spree and suicide his spirit has remained in the mansion. Now that the people of AcVille are staying there, he can use his touch of death to take their souls and they will work with him. At game start the murderer will send in a name to receive the touch of death, and they will be able to communicate. Each nightfall they will touch another innocent taking their soul (unless the Dr. has protected them). The first two souls will be automatic, after that they have a 50/50 chance of turning a soul. If the murderers soul is taken, the troubled souls can no longer turn others to work with them, they will however have a chance to "take a soul" each night fall. They must send in a name before each nightfall and have a 50/50 chance of taking that persons soul and sending them to their death.

Troubled Souls-Were once AcVille citizens and innocent, their souls were touched by the murderer and they now work with them to take the souls of the remaining innocents. They win once all the ghost hunters souls are taken.

Random events-On two occasions that will be randomly selected before game start, random events will happen.

one time a soul will be switched, if it is an innocents soul they will work with the troubled souls. If it is a Ghost hunter they will work with the troubled souls, they will be communicating with both sides and can not reveal to either side that they are..although their goal is to work with the troubled souls and take out the ghost hunters, they can not name them to the troubled souls, they also can not reveal to the ghost hunters they have been turned or give the names of the troubled souls to the ghost hunters. If a Troubled soul is selected they work for the ghost hunters and the same rules apply to them. If the Dr. is selected they will work for the troubled souls they can reveal to them that they are the Dr and they still have the power to protect and use the vial.

One time the towns vote will be switched to the second highest vote getter.

I don't want you to stop the game either, Lady G. Mistakes happen, I know... so we need to continue on. I have questions about the rules we have in this thread to ask about though.

1. I don't see where it says a troubled soul should have become a ghost hunter. Wouldn't they get turned to a non-communicating innocent instead?

2. The last 2 sentences under "The Murderer" don't seem to agree with each other (see blue quote below). If the murderer gets killed, do the remaining troubled souls get a chance to turn their victims or not?

If the murderers soul is taken, the troubled souls can no longer turn others to work with them, they will however have a chance to "take a soul" each night fall. They must send in a name before each nightfall and have a 50/50 chance of taking that persons soul and sending them to their death.

Since I was questioning Hay about his stand on low posters, I checked back and discovered that UN up to this point has a total of 9 posts.

9? Really? and most of it isn't even remotely related to trying to find something to go on.

Care to comment on your lack of input UN?

Wow...that turned into a total clusterfrick after I left. Kudos to all of you that were around for trying to keep it under control.

Anyways...I say we carry on. My question goes out to those who looked at JB's link to weather.com when he posted it about the storm. What exactly did it say? Because obviously it will be different 2 hours later. Lab called JB out about 10 minutes later about the storm and I find it hard to believe that it went from fine to a t-storm conveniently between that time period. I'd really like to hear, JB, what exactly you saw in the weather report that was so incriminating. Also Razz, Wiz, Ninja...whomever actually considered it I would like to know what you saw or if you even checked the link and made you question FF's statement that there were thunderstorms.

I'm sick of reading through any pages envolving ninja pigs and FF anymore, its getting quite annoying..... still rereading (kind of skimmed through) if something interesting appears I will post....

You mean to tell me that up to this point you have seen nothing interesting?

Even skimming you have to have a general idea of what has transpired.

No reaction to the events of nightfall?

1. Yes, they should be a non communicating innocent if evil first, they should be a troubled soul if they were innocent before the vial. I was thinking to fast trying to figure out how to "fix" my mistake, when I said that I spose. So YES...she should of become a non communicating innocent, not a ghost hunter.

2. When I said "take a soul" I meant "hit" not change them. They take their soul but not to become a troubled soul....they die.

Hope that clears that up a bit. If not please let me know

I checked it several times between when I posted it and when nightfall occurred. It said partly cloudy, windy, temps in high 70's. It was updated at least 3 times while I was checking on it. There was nothing there at all to even suggest things were as bad as he was making it seem. After looking at that, it seemed to me that he just outright lied. That was why I changed my vote...

I did click the link, I could not find bridge port on the map. It did saw thunderstorm watch, which is different from thunderstorm warning or thunderstorms. My concern was the fact that NP came on and said there were no storms. I was under the assumption they were in the same town.

I'm fine with carrying on but it will be tomorrow for me. I have a house full of people who have no power at home. Apparently the deprivation of electricity stipped away their veneer of civility cause they can't get along with each other at all. So I'm going to bed before I give them all the boot.

haven't really had a lot to go on, the problems with FF and Hayden had been discussed quite thoroughly already, I chimed in with my 2 cents and put my vote on Hayden.

As for not posting a lot, school is heating up and all honors courses and football until 5-6 everyday (and now freshman class VP responsibilities too:barf:) doesn't leave me much time for anything, never mind mafia. I'll try to post more in the coming days, but I have a game and team dinner tommorow so I won't probobly get home until 7 at the earliest, and then I have to do homework.

Sorry if I'm not contributing enough for you Wiz, I'd rather post thoughtfully then not at all.
