Mafia 80: Ghost Hunters

Well I read UN's post about his role claim and I thought he was hinting that JB was scum, I didn't realize it was just his attempt at a RC. He could be lying, he's never made it past day 2 in all the games I've played with him. The post that Labby had about there actually being a storm, I quoted it earlier, made it sound like JB had lied about the storm. When it was brought up quite a few people had mentioned they didn't actually check the link, just took his word for it. Because his word is what everyone went off of and FF turned innocent I believed he was lying. Plus the bit i googled and posted that did say there was the chance of sever thunderstorms in PA. I checked where he lived today and his status thing just says PA. His play was arrogant and sure. I played my first ever mafia game on his team and when I was being questioned he told me to laugh it off and treat it as something not serious or a joke. He seemed to be doing that so I suspected him.

Did you not read the post where I said that I clicked the link but could not find bridgeport on the map?

You saying everybody took his word for it and didn't click on the link is either skimming that would make DD look like a very detail oriented make sure all the punctuation is right fanatic, or trying to cover up that you saw an opportunity to take out someone you knew wasn't on your team

which is it Bally?

skimming, I'm not scum. I'm content to be voted I don't expect anyone to believe me though.

This post could get me in trouble, but I have thought about it a lot and need to ask.

First off, I know that everyone playing have lives, granted, this household is probably the only one where, not knowing if your partner is communicating or not, we don't want to interupt the other when they may need more time on the game.

However, if your real life gives you limited time to post, assuming that you have managed to at least skim the thread when you DO post, wouldn't that post be better used to ask questions or give thoughts or ideas rather than post why you can't post?

I just don't understand that.

I've been doing my best to post with purpose. I'm not just coming on to say that I can't post. There have been times where I've mentioned my schedule but I'm not just logging on to make excuses why I'm not here.

Bally I wasn't addressing you specifically with that post. It was a generalization about a disease that seems to be sp[reading through ACville lately.

Well I guess since no one wants to talk there is no sense in me staying here. I will check again in the morning.

If anyone feels insulted by my last few posts, that was not my intention. It was merely frustration at how little the town seems to be willing to contribute to winning this game.

These are fair questions from Rich.

I would like to hear from all 3 voters why they picked JB. I know they gave reasons when they voted but a more detail explanation now could very help weed out who is who.

I think UN is being honest but a little talk should help collaborate that.

It is possible none of them are scum but that seems unlikely to me.

I also realize that Kashta as been out and open about her reasoning. Not sure I buy it but she is atleast out here talking.

Here is my tentative vote on JB with a summary of my thoughts.

Based on a quick read through... and needing to get a vote placed somewhere:

I vote to take the soul of JB.

This is a tenative vote that may change as I read up more.

To sum up my reasoning -- I was thinking both JB and Wizard were possibly two innocents who ended up butting heads. And I spent considerable thought trying to resolve (if evil), which would it be?

After UN's apparent/unconfirmed role revelation (real mistake vs. evil scheme), and some of the points Bally has been raising against JB which would then support some of the reservations I've had myself about him... I've started to rethink my earlier (posted) impression of JB where I was still leaning him innocent.

Wizard, I can still see as pro-town. His seeming frustration over lack of posting and work demands also rings true so far IMO. If that's true, of course, it only lends more credence to suspecting JB. Plus, Lab Rat's vote fell on Wizard too at a time when there's simply no way she expected her life to end and her role to be revealed to us.

I pulled this as well. I had to decide whether to keep my vote on JB or not with little time in which to do this.

Does anyone have an actual vote count handy? I always try to keep one up myself but I haven't been able to. That would take up even more time right now when I really need to read more to decide whether my vote should stay on JB or not.

Here, I stated my concerns and asked JB about them directly.

That was faster than trying to find posts, quote them, and all that. I believe there was about an hour to go before night as he and I discussed this. I was still considering whether I should find some other place for my vote or leave it on JB.

Questions for JB.

You know Lab Rat's evil game better than anyone. I'd like your opinion of her agenda after (we know) she was turned evil. What is your read now of Labby's posts just before nightfall? How do we interpret her vote on Wizard? How do we interpret her telling FF she'd pick you 1st if she were the murderer?

She wasn't the murderer but she also didn't think she was going to die. She fully expected to survive and still be here to continue posting after nightfall. There's no possibility that Lab Rat felt her role would be revealed at that point in time anyway. That only happened because the mod goofed. She was supposed to get turned back innocent; not die. I seriously doubt she expected to get turned either since that vial came out of nowhere.

JB's lead off sentence worried me even more.

It's pretty obvious to me that she was trying to frame me by naming me (twice in fact as pointed out by Noods). I kept thinking about her vote on Wiz... which is in the end why I didn't keep my vote on him. I believe him to be innocent at this point. I kept pushing my suspicions of him hoping that it would make the scum feel a little less pressured. When Bally came out with her BS post about me being such a good player and coming up with the plan to turn Labby after she made that post, my suspicions on her were confirmed. Which is why I voted her.

Once I'm dead, and you guys know that you can trust what I was saying; look to Bally and Razz. There is still the slim chance that Wiz is evil, but I don't think so atm.

Here is where I addressed that with JB.

Whether she was trying to frame you or not is not a foregone conclusion, JB.

In that last game she modded, I was evil and she had an opportunity to observe my strategies (such as they were with a wonky computer) up close and personal. Since Labby has stated so often how it bugs her that she can't figure me out, I expected she would pay close attention to what I said in that scumden..... and one thing I said there and in many other places was when evil, it often pays off to stick to the truth as close as possible. I'm starting to believe that's just what Lab Rat did when she admitted you would be her first pick to turn... primarily, because she didn't think she could die (without a lynch) and the worst fate she could suffer from something random/unpredictable was she'd be turned back to the innocent side.

I also remember communicating with you (innocents) where our advice to newer players was real evil is subtle.

Here... you know what team she was on when she posted your name before being killed and you give us "obvious" ??

Do you remember those examples, JB? Do you really think Lab Rat is careless enough to overlook something like that?

Then, how would her alleged attempt trying to "frame you" be anything remotely "obvious" to any of us at this point? At best, that is only one possibility among others... you being the murderer who picked Lab Rat in the first place being one; you being Lab Rat's recommendation for their next turn being another.

That blue text (above) was precisely what I was getting at.

Then I read JB's response (below).

I'm not sure exactly what you're getting at, Kash. I believe if Labby had been the murderer she would have turned me. As it is, she wasn't the murderer so why are we talking about it? It's obvious to me is what I stated. After my lynching it will be obvious to you too. I remember exactly what you're talking about. I don't think she was careless, I think the town is gullible.

JB missed my point, it seems. Instead of answering what I asked, he went on about hypothetical crap we already know isn't possible.... the "if Labby had been the murderer" stuff.

Lab was the turn; not the murderer. We know this. JB knew it.

I felt JB was trying to wiggle his way out of this by not answering me. (Actually I didn't realize my vote would kill him either until much later.)

I see now... yep, he was rushed and possibly misunderstood where I was coming from. That likely shows in his post. A lot of posts were made in a short time. But when this happened, I was convinced that I was onto something with this and JB was definitely evil... be that the murderer himself or the turn which followed Lab Rat. It didn't matter which.

This post below contains my typo. (Innocent = alive). Here is where I made my final decision not to move my vote.

Someone else was turned evil while Lab Rat was still innocent.

Thank you, JB. Your game is not this simplistic, regardless of your role. My vote on you stands.

After this, Pappy questioned me.

Kash...I think I'm just confused here...

So you think JB is the murderer and the Lab was the N2 turn?

My response.

No. The murderer was randomly assigned... that could be anyone, JB is only one possibility.

However, I think Lab Rat was being honest about JB being her choice. Since she was the first turn... JB could easily have been their next turn.

My mind was made up. It was the best place for my vote based on what I had to go on.

Then it was nightfall and, yes, I was wrong. JB was innocent.

IT IS NIGHT!!!
