Here's the story: I bought a 20 gallon off of Craigslist a few weeks ago. The tank was dirty and stank like hell so I filled it up with water and bleach and left it outside in the backyard. It has been raining a lot these past few weeks but 2 days ago, it was nice and sunny and I had nothing better to do so I decided to finally finish cleaning up my tank. I scooped most of the water out and was about to tip the tank over and pour the remaining water out when I noticed something in the tank. I didn't know what to make of it. It looks like some sort of amphibian egg sac. I also thought it may be some sort of bacterial growth surrounding some sort of poop or debris 
. The water can and does support life even with the bleach being added a few weeks ago by the looks of the tiny wriggling red worms inside the tank.
I showed it my sister but her reaction was to take a stick to poke at it. She wanted to see what would happen if the egg sac was punctured :headshake2:. Well, I didn't want to hurt the little guy if it was indeed alive so I stopped her from doing so and then covered the thing with a plastic aquarium decoration. I went back to take a few pictures but left it at that not know what it was or what to do with it.
I really want to set up the tank so I went back the next day planning to transfer the thing into a plastic tub but found the outer sac broken. Disheartened, I left the tank still sitting out.
Anyone know what this may be? I don't live close to a river or creek. There is a small neighborhood concrete drainage channel about 3 blocks away. I can take more pix upon request.
