Peacefull Blue Fish

I second the electric blue rams if you can pay that much. They are awesome fish.

Blue Rams sounds like they are the most likely option for me, except that they are sensitive to Ph. My Ph rarely gets below 8.0, so they would need an extra long acclimation period... but hell, I can wait. My tank has plenty of hiding spaces for them, and is planted, so they should do fine in it. I hope.

Fancy Male Guppies would be my second bet, as they are hardy fish. Only fear with them is that they'll end up breeding with my female guppy, if I ever have to put the two genders together... but I know to avoid that.

apistogramma galaxis = ???

I don't think I'm going to get a betta or another gourami, 1 gourami is enough for me, and I've never had luck with betta in my tanks. They always jump out or kill all the other fish and end up needing their own tank...

I agree with the blue betta, assuming it would get along with your other fish. I'm not so sure about the gourami... Blue guppies are good too.

PetSmart (at least in Davenport, IA) had blue rams for $2.99 each. They actually looked wonderful! Bright colors, fins spread open, hungry. I couldn't resist. :) I don't think they are the easiest of fish to keep though. And I think they may be a little picky about pH and a little intimidated by other tankmates.

Oh, that sounds like I'm going to have to check out my Local Petsmart... :)

I can, but I'm dead broke right now. They will have to wait until I get some $$$ in my wallet again.

Thanks for all the suggestions, they've been a real help!

how about some of those blue platies? My petco has them and they are only a couple bucks. I think they are quite pretty and I'm planning on getting some when my 37 gal is cycled. They are hardy and they would like your water chemistry better than rams I would think.

Platys breed. I refuse to place another breeding fish into my tanks ever again, my experience with mollies was bad enough... no room for the fry, and not enough fish to eat them all. Guppies would only be an option because it's so easy to tell a male from a female, but it's harder to tell with juvi mollies/platys/swordtails. So no, no platys. I did look at the Blue Micky Mouse Platy, but decided against it when I saw they were livebearers.

Googled apistogramma galaxis, must say they look nice, but I've never seen them around her (at least, I don't I have). They also look expensive (anything that pretty has to be expensive) so they are probably a no go. However, if I can find them and take care of them, then they will be an option.

You already have a gourami. They are labrynth fish. They defend there territories very aggressively against other fish specifically other labrynth fish. The gourami you have might behave now but if you put another gourami in the tank or a betta they will pick on each other until one is dead. So do not do any gourami or betta.

I would suggest a Blue Guppy. Electric blue ram would work too. Maybe a Blue Killifish, they are solitary... Can't think of any more off the top of my head.
