What are cheese balls doing in my shrimp tank!

I've been finding out the more often I change the water the better the shrimp look and act so it looks like I'm back to every few days of 50% water changes.

Hi, There is a replaceable air filter. Lee`s Aquarium & pet products Cat #20000. www.leesaqpey.com. This might be just the thing for the small tanks. The wife (my darling bride of 44 years) found it in a junk box today. Hope this helps everyone.

I't been awhile since my last update so here it is now with Massachusetts river silt in the bottom. Up until now it was just a pile of java moss with some rocks, wood and some plants. I love the look of sand but I don't like the maintenance. This tank has a degree of maintenance that requires me to give it attention every few days with water changes be a big part of it so it's not such a terrible addition to vac the bottom with small airline tubing attached to a chopstick. What I really love about this tank is the fact that I can grow plants in it under an LED desk lamp. I assumed the plants would eventually wither and die. I anticipated replacing the plants often with trimmings from my other tanks but no. In the process of redoing this tank I threw out a huge handful of java moss. Here it is.

One thing I can tell you is it's stunted in it's growth. It was growing in a shady area of my 55 before I brought it in to this tank. It's the same plant as it's larger clones that are getting bigger in two other tanks. I see this plant as being the dominant plant in all my tanks. That's a good thing since I really like it.
