So, I just found literaly the most amazing tank I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!! Problem is, at the current moment, I have no money for it whatsoever!!!!!!!!! My parents probably won't pay for it, so I need to basically make all myself!!!! Oh, that reminds me, I'll have to ask first... any good presentation ideas?!!!! I'm open to donations too!:o Here's the tank itself:

A few things come to mind. Have a yard sale/place an ad and sell some things of yours that may be valuable, get another job, and last but not least, try your luck at gambling. ;)

at your age, it isnt easy. I am trying to get a job right now, and it isnt easy. My friends that have jobs (got them because family worked there) get an average of $750 each month. But one of my friends works 9hr days, 3 days a week, and gets about $780 each month.

Mow lawns, $15 a lawn means about 65 lawns, add a few more for gas cost for the mower.

Good luck!

It does seem kind of crazy to me. I could buy a couple dirt bikes for that. If I was your age, and got that kind of money I think I would save it for a car. Used car prices are going up and up. By the time you get a car you will be paying $3k for something older than you.

Oh.... god. Stupid inflation!! That's why, I'm thinking maybe I can get a little bit of my parents. Especially because my dad said he would give me a saltwater system for my 16th birthday! Woohooo! I wonder if he still remembers...

Who get's $15 to mow a lawn? Here (and it's a little town not a city) the cheapest rate for yards is $40 for a small yard, which would average about 20 minutes on a push mower, and then whatever time with a trimmer (weedeater). Anything big enough for a riding mower or zero-turn and it starts at $65.

Have you considered how much the monthly maintenance on that tank would be? How many gallons is it?

And if the lights goes out (probably metal halide), you'd better get it replaced asap if you want the corals to survive.

The reef salt mix isn't really cheap either for a tank that size. I don't think you realize how much that tank is going to cost per month to maintain.

I was trying to be reasonable. I get $20-$30 but that is from family friends. I would do the back on the rider in like 10min and then do the front with their push mower. That is 3/4 to 1 acre.

You have a dilemma. Si I would probably juts close my eyes and pretend I have it.

Like when I look for cars, I find a model and look at the older ones that I could afford, but at the end I look at the 2012 or 2013 version and pretend I have it.

A $1k aquarium doesnt seem like a good way to spend the money as a person of your age. You need to learn how to save. I learned the hard way, my parents told me when I was like 4 that any money I put into a bank account would be saved for a car and they would match it. I looked at how much I had in there and it was so low. So I put all of my b day and christmas $ in the account, and I am still looking at a car older than I am.

But, if you get the money, I guess you can spend it any way you want to. But when you grow up and start driving with your parents at 15, you will be wanting a car at 16.
